ABOUT ABOUT

Brave grievers, it is with much delight that we're collecting a group of up to 8 people who have experienced the death of a person that they would like to hold together in a community of others, as your host facilitates what will start as a one time gathering (though there is openness to ongoing meeting, group dependent) that has you journeying through grief using writing as medium. Please note the advertised date is entirely false, the sign up required a date to make the event. The date will be determined with your host. The loss can be fresh or something you've held for a while, this space is open to all who are grieving the passing of person/people in their lives. While we do acknowledge losses of all kinds are profound and griefworthy, this group is gathering around the death of someone in your world. Estrangement, break ups, or pet loss are also heavy to carry, but we will work to create a space for grief as it relates to losing someone to death.

This offering is a structured writing workshop, hosted by an award winning writer who has been working with people for over a decade to help them express complicated experiences through writing. You would write based on prompts, using pen/pencils/crayons on paper and other techniques that she found helpful to get beyond the self-judgement that prevents so many people from writing at all. Sharing would be optional, but it can be powerful.

Your host is in the thick of it with you, using writing to navigate the loss of both her parents in her early 30s.

This is sacred space and will require confidentiality, softness for each other, and a willingness to show up if you sign up.
